New York ska linchpins the Slackers have returned with plans for the official follow-up to their 2016 self-titled LP. Their first album in six years, Don't Let the Sunlight Fool Ya, will arrive on April 15 via Pirates Press Records, and today, they've dropped the title track.

"A lot of these tunes like 'Don't Let the Sunlight Fool Ya' were written right after we had just gotten out of lockdown," saxophonist Dave Hillyard told Brooklyn Vegan of recording their 15th studio album. "It was May 2020 and the sun was out, the COVID had receded, but it was by no means gone."

The album's lead single comes attached to a video by Jessica "the letter Jess" Breschard, who consulted with puppeteer Tim Lagasse on the accompanying visual effort.

This year, the group are due to hit Ottawa, Montreal and Quebec City, among several US cities, on their North American tour. They'll play Mavericks on May 12, Cafe Campus on May 13 and L'Antibar on May 14, respectively.
