Dry your tears, boys — the Cure are heading back on the road.
Starting this spring, the Songs of a Lost World tour will bring the goth rock legends (Simon Gallup included) across North America for the first time in seven years, with support from the Twilight Sad. It includes a handful of Canadian dates in Vancouver, Toronto and Montreal.
UPDATE (4/5, 12:40 p.m. ET): The Cure have announced additional dates in San Diego, Montreal and Atlanta, as well as a new show in Portland — which will be used as an "experiment" to see whether having non-transferable tickets will protect buyers enough without using Ticketmaster's Verified Fan program. Presales for San Diego, Montreal and Atlanta begin Friday (April 7), with any extra tickets to be made available to the general public on Saturday (April 8). Meanwhile, tickets for the Portland show go on sale this Friday (April 7). See the new dates in bold below.
Having not released a studio album since 2008's 4:13 Dream (despite plenty of teasing), the band will take their back catalogue back to North American stages starting in New Orleans on May 10. They'll hit Canada the following month, playing Vancouver's Rogers Arena on June 2, Toronto's Budweiser Stage on June 14 and Montreal's Bell Centre on June 15, before finishing the run stateside, ending in Miami on July 1.
Tickets go on sale to the general public next Friday (March 17), but you can register for Ticketmaster's Verified Fan presale — scheduled to take place on Wednesday (March 15) — up until Monday (March 13) at 10 a.m. ET.
