The Beaches are currently on the cover of Exclaim!, and now the fast-rising pop rockers have launched a new single. "Takes One to Know One" is out now.

Singer Jordan Miller said in a statement, "Recently I've had the pleasure of falling in love with a very complicated person. This song ... is about exploring my own culpability in the messy parts of my new relationship, something I wasn't really capable of doing until now." Perhaps this is the same partner whose mom asked Miller not to write a song about her son?

The song is a fun, boppy anthem — although, with its lyrics about personal dysfunction, the tone is slightly moodier than the signature hit "Blame Brett." This time, it's more about self-blame. Hear it below.

The band's album Blame My Ex was just short-listed for the Polaris Music Prize.
