Terror Danjah

Terror Danjah was introduced (along with the entire grime movement) to audiences in 2005 when unrelenting banger "Cock Back" opened the excellent Run the Road compilation. Danjah's sophomore release, Dark Crawler, works as a stark reminder to those that have stuck by the UK producer of just how far and wide his embryonic beats have travelled over the years. Working heavily with the next wave of underground urban producers (Lex NV, D.O.K., Champion), Dark Crawler takes more cues from '90s big beat artists like the Prodigy and Bentley Rhythm Ace than any of his contemporaries. Laid out more like a DJ mix than a proper LP, Danjah moves from casino-busy, bat-shit instrumentals like "Mirrors Edge" to Reggaeton door-slammer "Dark Crawler Interlude" to glistening slow jam "You Make Me Feel," featuring Meleka on vocals. Dark Crawler shows Terror Danjah acting mostly as a '90s dance interpreter, but it beats hanging onto a genre that peaked a decade back.
