Ted Nugent Finally Admits the Pandemic Is Not a Hoax

"The pandemic is real and the people that are sick are real"

After previously dismissing the coronavirus crisis as "not a real pandemic," only to later contract the virus himself, Ted Nugent has finally outright admitted that COVID-19 is not a hoax.

Earlier this week, the MAGA rocker walked back some of his more outrageous statements about the pandemic via his favourite ranting platform, Facebook Live. Now, aligning with his current predicament, Nugent has confirmed that he knows the pandemic is real, reconfiguring his stance to say he thinks the real hoax is shutting down businesses.

"I, Ted Nugent, not only was sicker than a dog but has tested positive for COVID-19 this afternoon — how do you like that?" Nugent said in an interview with ABC7.

He continued: "There's been worse conditions and health problems in the past in this country around the world where nobody ever shut down mom and pop diners and shut down entire economic societies in the United States of America.

"That's what I believe in. I will continue to believe that that's a hoax… but the pandemic is real and the people that are sick are real."

Nugent's latest follows a very public callout from Jimmy Kimmel, who compiled a supercut of the musician's wild COVID rants leading up to his diagnosis.

Earlier this month, Nugent — a self-proclaimed "common sense" addict — asked his followers why we never shut down for the other 18 COVIDs.

"There was a COVID-1, and there was a COVID-2, -3, -4, -5, -6, -7, -8, -9, -10, -11, -12, -13, -14, -15, -16, -17, -18," he said earlier this month. "COVID-1 through -18 didn't shut anything down, but woah, COVID-19 — even though it's 99.8 percent survivable. Why didn't we shut down for the AIDS epidemic or the flu or the Spanish Flu or the bird flu or the West Nile flu or influenza every year?"
