A brewery in Alabama has cancelled a Ted Nugent performance following a transphobic tirade by the musician on Twitter.

The show was slated to take place on July 18 at Avondale Brewing Company in Birmingham, AL, before community members protested the event. As reported by Blabbermouth, people expressed outrage over the show in the comments of since-deleted promotional posts.

On top of individual complaints, Al's, a local LGBTQ+ bar in Birmingham, announced its plans not to buy Avondale beer if the show were to happen. "Al's will no longer purchase any beer from Avondale Brewing Company nor Good People Brewing Company," the post reads. "Avondale will be hosting a Ted Nugent concert in July. Nugent has recently made serious transphobic comments."

Following the controversy, Avondale announced the show's cancellation on an Instagram story. "We have heard the concerns of the Avondale community, which is so important to us, and in conjunction with our partners, have taken the necessary steps to cancel the Ted Nugent concert scheduled for July 18," the story reads.

All of this comes after Nugent posted a series of transphobic takes and memes to his Twitter account. "There is no such thing as transgender. You cannot change your gender. Comfortably numb is actually uncomfortably dumb. Debate me but bring your bib," one tweet reads. Another post is simply a no-punchline transphobic meme that Nugent edited to superimpose his logo on top of.

Nugent also reacted to the show being axed via his Twitter account, saying, "[L]iars & haters drunk on stupid incapable to debate me."

Unfortunately, transphobia has been seemingly rampant on the bird app these days. Need we remind you of Kid Rock's failed attempt to shoot at some cases of Bud Light?
