After releasing "Drew Barrymore" and "Love Galore," SZA and the Top Dawg Entertainment camp have remained mum on when her CTRL full-length will arrive. Now, the LP finally has a release date.
TDE president Anthony "Top Dawg" Tiffith and SZA herself posted teaser trailers on social media revealing that CTRL will arrive June 9. The trailers find SZA sitting next to a pile of old TV sets and computer monitors, and feature narration from the Wu-Tang Clan's RZA.
You can watch them below.
"Peace and blessings," the rapper says. "My name is RZA, from the almighty Wu-Tang Clan. I'm zoning in with my homegirl SZA. Self-saviour, Zig-Zag-Zig Allah. Yeah, I think you could take that far, mama. Cut loose the drama. No melodrama. Rise to the top. Claim your karma. It's my honour to drop this lesson. It's my honour to give this blessing."
The road to releasing CTRL has undoubtedly been an arduous one. At one point last year, the holdup on the album's release had SZA frustrated with her label, but she later clarified her working relationship was just fine.
