Following the explosive Surviving R. Kelly, Lifetime has announced it will be releasing a follow-up special to the R. Kelly docuseries.
The two-hour special will be called Surviving R. Kelly: The Impact and premiere on May 4 at 10 p.m. EDT/PDT on Lifetime. The special will be hosted by award-winning journalist Soledad O'Brien, Deadline reports, and "highlights the impact the documentary has had on our culture globally, how it has elevated the conversation on sexual violence and what it means to be a survivor."
The special will feature footage from the docuseries, interviews with journalists, legal experts, non-profit organizations and psychologists, with all of them discussing the ongoing story surrounding R. Kelly and the fallout from the original Lifetime series.
The special also will include an in-depth look at the now-infamous interview with Gayle King, as well as the women who are still supporting R. Kelly.
