Surf Dads

"Pinpoint" (video)

Regina-based indie rock duo Surf Dads served up their debut album All Day Breakfast earlier this year, and now "Pinpoint" from that very record has been given the music video treatment.

The track holds a special place in the band's history as both the first song they wrote together and an enduring favourite of the group's Gage McGuire.

"This was the first song we ever wrote as a band, albeit a LOT different," he tells Exclaim! "We loved the chorus so much that we said, 'This has to be on our first full-length' and saved it for two years. I wrote the lyrics to this in a car on the way to a show to play the song for the first time live. I screwed them up for sure, but the line 'Dig your own hole, I'll pass you a shovel' is one that has stuck out to me as one of my favourite lyrics we have penned."

The treasured tune has now been paired with a video, courtesy of director Andrew Parry. The clip sees the duo getting hammered and DJing at chain restaurant Earls. When they attempt to get the after-dinner party going with Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade, you know it's gonna be a good time.
