While Sunn O))) have been recently shining a light on their past work, the robe-wearing drone titans are now looking ahead to the future with new material. In fact, the band have revealed that they are currently busy recording with none other than poker champ/sound guru Steve Albini.
Sunn O))) took to their Facebook page to make the reveal, confirming they are now laying down some new tracks with Albini at his Electrical Audio facility in Chicago. They even shared a brief video featuring a snippet of what sorts of sounds they are cooking up.
The last proper Sunn O))) album remains 2015's Kannon, and so far, this is the first we've heard of the band working on a proper follow-up.
As previously reported, Sunn O))) have been helping Southern Lord Records celebrate its 20th anniversary this year with a series of archival releases from the band, including the group's Downtown LA Rehearsal/Rifftape March 1998 and reissues of their classic White1 and White2 albums.
