The Strumbellas promoted their debut album, 2012's My Father and the Hunter, with everything from tours to a videogame. Now, a year later, they're looking to the future by hitting the road with a new single from a forthcoming album.
The new song is called "In My Life," and it's a bright folk number with handclaps and plenty of harmonies. A clip for the track — which is part lyric video, part live performance footage — is embedded at the bottom of this page.
Expect this song to appear on the band's next album, due out this fall. They have been working on the new collection with producer Ryan Hadlock (the Lumineers) at Bear Creek Studio in Woodinville, WA. They plan to finish it off in July, and a press release promises that the new songs "will jump out to fans of their live shows with its infectious energy and foot-stomping, singalong chorus."
As for their summer tour plans, the Ontario band will be heading as far east as Quebec and as far west as the West Coast. See the schedule below.
Tour dates:
6/13 Toronto, ON - ServeStock
6/30 Dauphin, MB - Countryfest
7/3 Regina, SK - The Exchange
7/4 Edmonton, AB - The ARTery
7/6 Whistler, BC - Olympic Plaza
7/8 Vancouver, BC - The Railway Club
