Stream Gord Downie's Final Album 'Away Is Mine'

Gord Downie's final collection of solo songs, Away Is Mine, has finally arrived. And you can hear the entire collection from the late Tragically Hip frontman now.

Away Is Mine was completed just months before Downie's passing on October 17, 2017. The album began as exchange of musical and lyrical ideas between Downie and Skydiggers guitarist and co-founder Josh Finlayson.

"There really wasn't a plan to make a record," Finlayson explained in a previously released statement. "The whole thing was that I knew this was a great way to spend time with Gord, listening to music, talking about music, talking about things that we'd always talked about. And this just evolved pretty organically."

Away Is Mine was recorded in just four days at the Hip's Bathouse studio. It now appears in both electric and acoustic forms — both of which you can hear below.

Away Is Mine is out now through Arts & Crafts.

As previously reported, another unreleased Downie solo album is said to be in the works recorded before work began on Away Is Mine.
