If you're looking for a bullshit-free slice of punk rock to get you through the winter, Ottawa's the Steve Adamyk Band will likely fit the bill. The outfit are back with their third album, functionally titled Third, which will arrive on February 12 via Dirtnap Records. Before that official release date, you can stream the whole thing on Exclaim.ca.
The record isn't a huge departure from the band's past work, and a press release notes, "The formula is the same as always, bringing a punk edge to classic power pop, with help from a strong modern garage influence."
This may come as some relief to fans of the group's past material, since the band underwent some lineup changes in late 2011, with Seb Godin joining on bass and Dave Forcier taking over on drums (and past timekeeper Dave Williams shifting into a studio-only role).
Listen to the pop-punk-leaning 12-song collection below. If you're going to be in Ottawa or Toronto in March scope out the band's limited live schedule below.
Tour dates:
3/2 Ottawa, ON - Babylon *
3/24 Toronto, ON - Crawford *^
