Donald Fagen, frontman for classic rock band Steely Dan, was arrested and charged with misdemeanour assault last night (January 4) after an altercation with his wife, musician Libby Titus.

As Rolling Stone reports, the domestic dispute took place at the couple's New York home. A spokesperson from the NYPD said, "[Titus] and Fagen were involved in a verbal dispute, at which point he grabbed her by the arm and pushed her.... She fell, bruising her arm."

The New York Post spoke with Titus, who said, "I don't feel good.... I'm very tired and I'm divorcing my husband."

The Post also obtained the criminal complaint, which alleges that Fagen pushed his wife into a marble window frame, "causing her to fall onto the frame and suffer bruising and swelling to her right arm, as well as substantial pain."

Fagen was released this morning (January 5) without bail.
