Static-X's Debut LP Gets First Vinyl Pressing

It's been 17 years since metal band Static-X issued their debut LP, Wisconsin Death Trip. While at the time, it was released on CD and cassette, Music on Vinyl is now set to give the record its first-ever vinyl pressing. The wax platter arrives June 8.

A press release explains that the collection will arrive in a limited pressing on silver and black mixed vinyl, and will come housed in a gatefold sleeve replicating the 1998's efforts original artwork.

Originally delivered through Warner Bros., Wisconsin Death Trip is described as an industrial metal album, with lead single "Push It" being one of the act's most memorable tunes. The album also features the singles "I'm with Stupid" and "Bled for Days." It was certified platinum in the U.S. in 2001.

Sadly, band leader Wayne Static did not live long enough to see his band's debut arrive in this latest format. He passed away last November after taking a fatal mixture of alcohol and prescription drugs ahead of a North American tour. He was 48 years old.
