The Stanfields

'Modem Operandi' (album stream)

BY Alex HudsonPublished Sep 16, 2015

This Friday (September 18), Celt-rocking Haligonians the Stanfields will release their album Modem Operandi on Groundswell Music. Until then, Exclaim! has the premiere of the entire thing.

This album follows 2013's acoustic effort For King and Country, and it finds the band plugging in their instruments once again and returning to an electric sound. This much is clear from the opening seconds of "White Juan," which tears out of the gate with an aggressive surge of rock guitars and growling vocals. The band's folksy Celtic influences shine through on "Streets of Gold" and the epic eight-minute "The Marystown Expedition," while cuts like "Fight Song" and "Sunday Warships" stand out as some of the most hard-rocking numbers.

Hear the eight-song LP below. Check out the Stanfields' tour schedule here. If you're in Toronto on September 24, click here to get tickets to their show at the Horseshoe Tavern.
