The last two years have seen a string of appearances from seminal ska forefathers the Specials. First, there was a one-off performance in March of 2008, then they spent the spring of 2009 on a UK tour. Now, the band will be returning to North America for the first time in 30 years.
Taking place in April, the four dates include stops in Los Angeles and New York, as well as an appearance at Coachella. The band will also grace Canada with one show, appearing in Toronto on April 19.
Before they launch any of these shows, however, they'll make their North American debut with an appearance on Late Night with Jimmy Fallon on April 13.
At this point, it still looks as if founding member and principal songwriter Jerry Dammers is taking no part in the reunion, or as he calls it, "a takeover."
Tour dates:
4/15 Los Angeles, CA - Nokia Theatre
4/16 Indio, CA - Coachella
4/19 Toronto, ON - Sound Academy
4/21 New York, NY - Terminal 5
