Soundtrack to a Funeral

James Blunt’s "Goodbye My Lover” is the most requested funeral song. According to the Bereavement Register in the UK, Blunt’s ballad topped the list of songs chosen by the fatally prepared British public. Conducting a study involving 5,000 people, the results also revealed that a reported 51 percent have already decided what their song would be. Mark Roy, founder of the Register, says he noticed a real shift from the old-time dirges to more contemporary hits. "The top 20 really shows how far we have come in terms of saying goodbye.” Other send-off anthems include U2’s "With or Without You” and Robbie Williams’s "Angels,” which placed second.
