We live in a world where André 3000 recently released an excellent album of ambient flute jams, so perhaps it's only natural that Solange is writing tuba music and is trying to work up the courage to release an album of it.
This intriguing revelation came from her interview with Harper's Bazaar. "I love it," she said. "I've started writing music for the tuba, and I am trying to talk myself into releasing it, but I can only imagine the eye rolls from people being like, this bitch hasn’t made an album."
This would certainly be a departure for Solange, whose most recent album is 2019's adventurous R&B collage When I Get Home.
"It sounds like what the gut feels like to me," she added. "There's a way that it takes up space that you can’t deny, and it also just feels very Black to me."
We're into it — release the tuba tapes, Solange!
