Two bands that paved the way for European thrash metal in the ’80s were Germany’s Kreator and Sodom. Both were held in high regard by the underground, with Kreator managing to create quite a name for themselves in North America through constant touring and solid albums, while Sodom became one of the most beloved bands on the European metal festival circuit. Unfortunately, both their new records fall short. With Endorama, Kreator sound a lot more like modern day Megadeth than their former selves. Sodom, on the other hand, hasn’t evolved at all and seems stuck in the same rut they were in a dozen years ago. The songs on Code Red might as well be from Agent Orange, cause god knows they sound exactly the same.
