Snail Mail has released a video for "Ben Franklin," the second single from her upcoming sophomore record Valentine.
The Josh Coll-directed video finds songwriter Lindsey Jordan dancing through a luxe house, posing with a python around her neck and sharing ice cream with a puppy. The song itself is new territory for Snail Mail, featuring buzzing synths and some seriously pop-indebted vocal melodies.
"I wanted to sonically and lyrically get out of my comfort zone with 'Ben Franklin,'" Jordan said in a statement about the song and video. "It felt only right that the visual accompaniment should include dancing in front of a camera and holding a 10-foot snake close to my face."
