Ahead of the Smashing Pumpkins' forthcoming "reunion" tour, the latest incarnation of the band are gearing up to deliver some of the new material recorded with Rick Rubin, and they are now teasing our first taste of that.

On Instagram, band leader Billy Corgan shared a still from the set of a forthcoming music video for "Solara," one of the group's new tracks he had previously made mention of in a separate post from February. As you can see from the grainy shot below, the rat has indeed left the cage, despite his rage.

Corgan also revealed that the video is being directed by Nick Koenig, who makes music as Hot Sugar. Koenig also served as director for late MC Lil Peep's video for "Awful Things."

At this point, however, it's unclear when "Solara" will actually arrive, but we are guessing it will be sooner than later.

As previously reported, the Smashing Pumpkins' North American tour kicks off in July. Today the Pumpkins added four additional dates in Canada, while also naming Metric as opening support for the entirety of the North American run. You can find a complete tour itinerary here.
