The artist born Tyron Frampton was charged with two counts of rape related to an alleged incident that took place in Oxford in September 2021. A woman accused him of penetrating her both orally and vaginally without her consent. Frampton's co-defendant, Alex Blake-Walker, was accused of raping the same woman and a second complainant.

The rapper appeared in court for the first time today alongside Blake-Walker, who also pleaded not guilty to one count of rape and two sexual assaults, the BBC reports.

In the aftermath of the allegations, Frampton — who released his third studio album, Ugly, in March — was quietly dropped from the festival lineups at Glastonbury and Reading & Leeds. According to the BBC, he also removed himself from next month's Blur reunion show.

Frampton "categorically [denied] the charges" on social media in May.
