After releasing their third studio album, 100% Sunshine, Saskatoon indie-rock outfit Slow Down Molasses toured Europe and Canada over the summer, making stops at Edmonton's Up+Downtown Fest and Manitoba's Real Love Summer Fest along the way. They'll be at Iceland Airwaves this week, playing Gaukurinn on November 5 and Dillon on November 6, but before they headed out, we caught up with the band in Toronto for a performance of their song "Moon Queen."
Even on the Baby G's intimate stage, the four-piece produced a loud and energetic sound from the get-go, juxtaposing the guitar-heavy instrumentals with slightly melancholic lyrics that reference a non-reciprocal relationship. Some sample lyrics: "We are now lost on a path that won't lead us home," and "I do not believe we share the same dream."
