M for Montreal has announced the first round of artists included in the festival's flagship Official Selection for its 17th edition.
Slated to take place in-person from November 16 to 19 (and virtually November 9 and 10), the first eight of the 30 artists selected for this year's showcase are rising QuéPop star Ariane Roy, bedroom pop phenom dee holt's first Canadian performance, Exclaim! New Faves alum Fernie, the pride of New Brunswick Lisa LeBlanc, R&B-fusion auteur Odreii, Saskatoon indie rockers Slow Down Molasses, La Voix 4 sensation Soran and neo-soul dreamweaver Virginie B.
Over 300 music industry professionals — including 100 international delegates — will partake in the conference portion of M for Montreal. Offering access to both online and in-person workshops and networking events, as well as the Artists Lab and the Official Selection showcases, PRO Badges are currently on sale here at an early bird rate until September 6.
