Silent Majority

Long Island quintet Silent Majority are one of those bands that is succeeding at taking hardcore to a new level with the infusion of more emotional lyrics, vocal harmonies and musical complexity while maintaining the brooding rage that traditionally defines the genre. Like Grade and Boy Sets Fire, they aren't satisfied with simply pummelling listeners. On this five-track EP, their third release, the themes and song structures contain a level of maturity that belies their years. Heartbreak and youth angst has rarely been so well displayed through songs that aren't just tossed together like so many hardcore bands tend to do.
