Sic Alps Call it Quits

California-based lo-fi champions Sic Alps released their latest longplayer, Sic Alps, last year, and followed it up with the She's on Top EP earlier this year. Sadly, that will mark the final output from the long-running Bay Area experimenters, as they've called it quits.

As Pitchfork reports, the group announced that a performance in Berlin on July 12 would be their last.

Since forming in 2004 by Mike Donovan and drummer Adam Stonehouse, Sic Alps have counted Noel Von Harmonson, Douglas Armour, Tim Hellman, Matt Hartman, Bianca Sparta, Eric Bauer and Ty Segall among their ranks.

No word on why they chose to through in the towel now, but Mike Donovan is set to release Wot, his debut solo album, on October 15 via Drag City.
