Sic Alps Celebrate Tronics on New 7-Inch

Wonderfully lo-fi guitar greats Sic Alps kept up their wild abandon on last year's Napa Asylum, but they still haven't run out of ideas. This spring, they've decided to turn their focus on the catalogue of late '70s/early '80s UK DIY vets Tronics on a new seven-inch.

As a press release explains, the members of Sic Alps aren't über nerdy record collectors, but they do have a soft spot for Tronics' singles. As such, they've compiled four covers on a new seven-inch called Pangea Globe.

The write-up continues:

So here it is: one night's work, four songs worth -- blathered and slaved over, and tinted in the mix for AWESOME effect. Some beats get softened, some are solidified with march force pressure, tempos run a bit faster/slower in general... all informed by a fire/passion for the game that those guys and these guys play. Like when the Stones covered Chuck.

Drag City will issue Pangea Globe on April 24. The tracklisting is available below and the cover is above.

Pangea Globe:

1. My Baby's In A Coma
2. Shark Fucks
3. Spending Time
4. Squiddley Diddley
