Lo-fi graduates Sebadoh are previewing another track from their impending Defend Yourself LP, this time via the somewhat country-touched jamboree "State of Mine."
Atop a punchy, bar-bound backbeat and fuzz-laced guitar melodies, Lou Barlow discusses family issues, conquering fears and holding his head up high, but seems to resign to the fact that "failure is a state of mine." He name-drops Massachusetts and California in the lyrics too, suggesting the song title doubles down on its puns.
You can check it out down below.
As previously reported, Defend Yourself drops September 17 via Joyful Noise Recordings.
