Screaming Females have detailed their eighth studio LP. The New Jersey trio will deliver new album Desire Pathway on February 17 via Don Giovanni Records.

Following 2018's All at Once, the 10-track Desire Pathway was produced by Matt Bayles and speaks to the trails blazed by the bold — not unlike the one Screaming Females have been journeying on in their nearly two decades as a band.

"Maybe there was one in your neighbourhood growing up, a corner where everyone decided it took too long to go around, so they made their own pathway to cut through," vocalist-guitarist Marissa Paternoster explains of the album's title. "There's this cool unsaid group consciousness that comes together where everyone decides, this is the right way to go."

The voyage down the band's Desire Pathway begins with anthemic album opener "Brass Bell," which you can let ring out using the player below.

As Paternoster explains, "'Brass Bell' is a song about surrendering your autonomy to something so overwhelmingly powerful you willingly relinquish your ambitions and self-worth. My intention was to draw an interesting dichotomy between the muscular nature of the song and the rather bleak, worried lyrics."

Screaming Females have also mapped out tour dates behind Desire Pathway, including a single Canadian stop at Vancouver's Rickshaw Theatre on April 11. You can find their complete itinerary here.

In 2019, Screaming Females collected B-sides and rarities for compilation Singles Too. The following year, their song "Let Me In" was featured on Tony Hawk's Pro Skater 1+2 soundtrack.

In March, Paternoster will appear on a new album from the HIRS Collective.
