Picton, ON's Sandbanks Provincial Park might not serve as the grounds for the annual Sandbanks Music Festival proper this year, but that hasn't stopped organizers from putting on the show anyway. The 2020 edition of the event has now been scheduled to take place virtually in lieu of an in-person gathering, with performances taking place on September 19.

The lineup includes a 45-minute headlining set from Basia Bulat, as well as short sets from Old Man Luedecke, Lisa Bozikovic, the Sophiasburgh All-Stars and a Family Curse with Neil Osborne and his daughter, Kandle. Taking place through Zoom, the shows will run from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. with artists calling in from their respective campsites, backyards and country fields across Canada.

Household tickets are on sale now for $20 — meaning the whole family can tune in for the price of just one ticket.

Virtual attendees are encouraged to set up their viewing space with a campfire (real or virtual) and to keep their cameras on during the Zoom event "so that everyone can experience a unique virtual Sandbanks Music experience together." Each ticket comes with a PDF filled with how-to tips on building fires and tent forts.

For groups already camping at Sandbanks, "Surprise Boxes" of various drinks, snacks and other items can be delivered to campsites during the event for an additional charge. Attendees watching from home can also opt to order a box for home delivery.

More details on the event including ticketing information can be found at the Sandbanks Music Festival website.
