Vancouver indie rockers Said the Whale have shared a new single, "Girls Night Out."
The song is a giddy synthpop banger full of computerized harmonies and playful references to Cristal, phone notifications, Mai Tais and partying away the heartbreak. It's decidedly more synth-driven than most of the band's rock- and folk-leaning material.
"Girls Night Out" follows STW's 2021 album Dandelion (and the more recent expanded deluxe version). They recently wrapped up the promotional campaign behind that album with a video for "The Ocean."
It's not clear if this is the first of more new material to come, but for now, it appears to be a one-off.
