Legendary Toronto rockers Rush are celebrating their 40th year as a band, and they've now unveiled plans for a massive celebratory tour of North America.
Late last year, the band issued the extensive R40 collectors box set, featuring highlights from their four decades of playing together. Well, now fans will be able to experience the group's hefty catalogue live, as Rush head out on a 34-city tour.
They'll kick things off in Tulsa, OK, on May 8, touring straight through the summer until they close out the string of shows in Los Angeles on August 1. Catering to fans in their home and native land, Geddy Lee and the gang will be making Canadian stops in Toronto (June 17 and 19), Montreal (June 21), Calgary (July 15) and Vancouver (July 17).
It was recently reported that the band will be honoured at this year's Junos with the Allan Waters Humanitarian Award. They will receive the award before heading out on tour at a gala event on March 14, with the Juno Awards ceremony taking place the following evening (March 15) in Hamilton, ON.
