Toronto prog rock legends Rush have recently announced that they're going to celebrate their 40th anniversary with an extensive North American tour. That's not all, however — the group are also looking back with a vinyl reissue of their seminal 2112 album
True, the breakthrough album isn't all that hard to find on vinyl, but Rush have put together a futuristic new version of the LP. Adorned with a hologram, it's as though the album is actually from the year 2112.
As light hits the B-side of the LP, a holographic image of the album's iconic artwork appears in the record's grooves. The whole thing is demonstrated in the video below [via Consequence of Sound].
The new vinyl edition of 2112 is expected to arrive on March 17. Meanwhile, Rush's 40th anniversary tour commences on May 8 in Tulsa, Oklahoma, and includes dates throughout the United States and Canada.
