While far too many celebrity forays into the world of Broadway musicals end up becoming terrible ideas, it appears that one act maybe working on a must-see hit, and that act is none other than pioneering NY rap crew Run-DMC.
According to a report from Variety [via TwentyFourBit], Joseph Simmons (better known as Rev Run) and Darryl McDaniels (DMC) have teamed up with producer Paula Wagner for a biographical musical depicting the hip-hop trio's rise to prominence.
In the interview, Wagner was beaming with excitement, saying, "I feel their story lends itself perfectly to the stage. This project has been a passion of mine for some time and I couldn't be more thrilled to be working with them."
The project is still in its developmental stages, so the details are still scarce, but this actually may be a musical we'd want to see. Or at least it would sure go along nicely with that biopic.
