Though new material from the Rolling Stones may indeed be on the horizon, the rock icons are taking some time this year to celebrate the 50th anniversary of their 1967 LP Their Satanic Majesties Request with a massive box set reissue.
Retail listings show that the anniversary box set will arrive on September 22 through ABKCO, complete with restored original lenticular cover and bespoke foldout packaging. The box itself is limited and hand-numbered, containing both mono and stereo versions of the record on 180-gram vinyl LPs and hybrid SACDs.
The four-disc package will also include a 20-page book with an essay and photos from the original cover art shoot. Both stereo and mono versions were newly remastered by Bob Ludwig.
