Roger Waters' revival tour for Pink Floyd's The Wall has already given us multiple legs, rumours of a DVD, accusations of anti-semitism and the defacement of an Elliott Smith memorial. Soon, the tour will come to an appropriately epic finale with a newly announced show on July 21 at the Plains of Abraham in Quebec City.
A press release promises that the gig will make history by being Waters' biggest Wall show since his performance at the Berlin Wall in 1990. The concert will boast a surround sound system and a bigger-than-ever wall of over 250 metres, plus extra lighting, pyrotechnics and "many more surprises."
Waters said in a statement, "I've always loved playing in Quebec. The Québécois are a very passionate and musical people and we'll be playing on the Fields of Abraham. This is going to be completely unlike any of The Wall shows we've done anywhere else in the world."
At the bottom of the page, watch a trailer for the show, in which Rogers talks about the gig and shows off his French skills.
Wristbands will be first made available to folks who have already purchased passes to this year's Festival d'été de Québec. These initial sales are currently underway and run until May 31. Register for a wristband here.
Remaining wristbands will go on sale to the public on June 5.
