Rival Schools Reunite By Fate

BY Cam LindsayPublished Apr 29, 2008

Yeah, Rival Schools have reunited.

Originally formed by in 2001 and considered a post-hardcore supergroup by many, Rival Schools featured quite the pedigree of members boasting Walter Schreifels (Quicksand, Gorilla Biscuits, Youth of Today) on vocals and guitar, Ian Love on guitar, Cache Tolman (Iceburn) on bass and Sam Siegler (CIV, Youth of Today) on drums.

Despite releasing only one full-length in their two-year run (plus a split album with Onelinedrawing titled Rival Schools United by Onelinedrawing), the rather brilliant emo blueprint United By Fate, Rival Schools faded into obscurity, as the members each began working in other circles.

Details on the reunion still need to be ironed out, however, Drowned in Sound has reported that the band will embark on a UK tour in June and release a new album by the end of 2008.

Here are the tour dates:

6/11 London, King’s College
6/13 Donington, Download Festival
6/17 Birmingham, Academy II
6/18 Leeds, Cockpit
6/19 Glasgow, King Tut’s
6/20 London, Radio One Rock Show Session at Maida Vale
6/21 Portsmouth, Wedgewood Rooms
