The Riff Randalls are a Vancouver-based group comprised of three young girls and an older, male lead singer who looks just like the Smugglers' Grant Lawrence. The four songs here, including "Riff Randalls Theme," are short, lightweight Donnas-esque punk rock. There's nothing really wrong with the music, except it has that a stilted, over-produced sound that makes what appears to be fairly new musicians sound wooden and unexciting. In other words, these guys probably come a lot closer to kicking some ass live than the record does. This record re-embraces the almost-lost Mint Records tradition of "cute" punk music and will appeal to old perverts who fixate on young women in bands.
