Rick Ross Delays 'Mastermind'

Were you looking forward to grabbing MMG kingpin Rick Ross's new Mastermind LP later this month? Well, we've got some bad news for you, as the rapper has pumped the brakes on the project, with a proper release date now TBA.

News of the push came from Rozay himself during a phone interview on DJ Scream's Hoodrich Radio show [via XXL]. While Ross was there to dish the dirt on recent label signees Fat Trel and Tracy T, he also dropped the bomb that Mastermind isn't going to arrive on its previously planned December 17 street date. His reasoning? The album still needs a little TLC.

"I'm still putting the final touches on the album," he admitted in the on-air interview. "You know me, making that classic is more important than anything. Making sure the streets are overwhelmed with what I am doing is what is most important. I'm gonna try to get it to you, and if I don't, I'll get it to you ASAP."

You can listen to the interview, which also makes mention of an upcoming Wale project, a MMG film and features a quick chat with Fat Trel, down below.

Another due date has yet to be affixed to Mastermind, but a new remix of the set's "No Games" appeared earlier this week on Maybach Music Group's Priorities Vol. 1 mixtape.
