The relationship between Refused frontman Dennis Lyxzén and Italian electro duo Bloody Beetroots is well documented, from the latter's blog-beloved remix of Refused's "New Noise" to the three of them teaming up for the tour and EP called Church of Noise. Now, they've set their collective sights on Canadian metal for a new collaboration.

While details remain scarce, Lyxzén recently revealed that he's reteamed with the producers to cover "Metal on Metal," the best-known track from Toronto metal greats and documentary stars Anvil.

Via his Twitter, Lyxzén revealed, "In Italy working with Bob of The Bloody Beetroots. Recording a cover-version of Metal on Metal w/ Anvil. What???"

We share his perplexed reaction, but there's definitely no question that we're pretty damn curious to hear this weird meeting of the minds.

Of course, Lyxzén has been most busy with his Refused reunion shows. Most notably, the group will be playing Coachella on April 13 and 20. For a taste of what's to come, footage of a secret reunion show leaked last week and can be viewed here.
