Raekwon Confirms 'F.I.L.A.' Street Date

BY Gregory AdamsPublished Feb 20, 2015

Over two years after first announcing his F.I.L.A. project, Wu-Tang killah bee Raekwon has finally given the LP a solid due date. The long-in-the-works collection officially touches down April 28.

Rae revealed the ETA today (February 20) over on Instagram, confirming that the album will "flood the streets" in April. As previously reported, the album title is an acronym, which reads in full as Fly.International.Luxurious.Art..

It's unclear if the picture attached to the announcement is the cover image, but the art does find Raekwon looking fly in a luxurious leather coat. We have no clue where the guy's stationed in the shot, though.

Raekwon first made mention of F.I.L.A. in early 2013, but the project apparently faced a few delays. The flow of material was still there, though, with the Chef having spent a good chunk of 2014 supplying soul-sampling songs as part of his #TBT online singles series. The cuts were later gathered up as the We Wanna Thank You mixtape.

Tracklisting info has yet to be revealed for F.I.L.A.

In related news, Raekwon recently announced he's got a documentary on the way focusing on his early days with the Wu and the making of his debut solo LP, Only Built 4 Cuban Linx. You'll find the trailer for The Purple Tape Files down below.
