Pussy Riot Share Black Lives Matter-Inspired Protest Song "Riot"

Published Jul 03, 2020
In response to ongoing protests against racism and police brutality, as well as the recent arrest of Canadian-Russian band member Pyotr "Peter" Verzilov, Pussy Riot have shared a new single titled "Riot" — a track inspired by the Black Lives Matter movement."We stand with the protesters for racial equality and justice," the band wrote in a statement. "We demand to defund the police and punish killer cops."
Earlier this year, the group shared another politically-aligned song, "1312," which was inspired by Chile's 2019 protests against inequality.
