After making its way to Montreal and Toronto amid a sprawling North American tour last year, the multimedia experience that is Pussy Riot's years-long Riot Days international traveling show — combining live music, theatre and video — is finally coming to Western Canada. The Russian feminist art/activism collective have announced performances in cities across British Columbia, Alberta, Saskatchewan and Manitoba for this March.
The latest leg of the tour, which began all the way back in 2017 and earned Pussy Riot the 2023 Woody Guthrie Prize, is set to begin in Kelowna on March 4. Following a pair of Alberta shows in Edmonton (March 6) and Calgary (March 7), the group — whose touring lineup currently consists of Maria (Masha) Alyokhina, Diana Burkot, Olga Borisova and Alina Petrova — will make stops in Saskatoon, SK, (March 8) and Winnipeg, MB (March 10). Things are slated to wrap up on March 22 at the Pearl in Vancouver.
