Montreal's hardest-rocking hard rockers Priestess are heading out on the highways of Canada with their brand of Sabbath-drenched bong-juice tunes through November and early December. It will mark the band's first coast-to-coast headlining tour.
The cross-Canada tour, which also features a handful of dates in the U.S., will give the hair-farming foursome a chance to showcase their upcoming album, Prior to the Fire. Priestess's second album - a follow-up to 2006's Hello Master - was produced by David Schiffman (Mars Volta, Nine Inch Nails) and will be released in Canada on October 20 through Montreal's Indica Records with distribution from Red Ink, a division of Sony.
According to a press release, Priestess's vocalist/guitarist Mikey Heppner says the band is - get this - excited to be heading back on the road. Don't all bands say that? In fact, aren't all bands required to say that?
In one of the most press-release-sounding quotes we've ever heard, Heppner says, "When we were writing the songs that would make up Prior to the Fire we really meant for them to be heard live. We just can't wait to finally get on tour again and really do them justice - which is playing them live." Less talk, more rock, Mikey.
Support for the majority of the tour will come from Los Angeles-based stoner rockers Early Man, who also toured with Priestess in 2006.
