Pop Montreal Expands 2016 Lineup with John Cale, Annette Peacock, Hayden

Pop Montreal already gave us a taste of its festival lineup with an initial announcement in May. Now, organizers have shared another round of additions to this year's event.

New headliner additions that will play the event from September 21 to 25 include John Cale of the Velvet Underground, avant-garde pianist and composer Annette Peacock, and singer-songwriter Hayden who will be playing his Everything I Long For LP in its entirety. Other international additions include Dean Blunt's alter ego Babyfather, HEALTH, Let's Eat Grandma and Princess Vitarah. 

Local additions include Jean-Michel Blais, Little Scream, CO/NTRY, Un Blonde, Nancy Pants, TOPS, Jesse Mac Cormack, Heathers, Emily & Odgen, Tim Darcy of Ought, Devon Welsh of Majical Cloudz, Jef Elise Barbara's Black Space, She-Devils, and KROY.

Organizers have also announced the return of Win Butler's celebrity Pop vs Jock IV basketball game, a speaking engagement with Susan Rogers as part of the Pop Symposium, and an Art Pop-curated conversation between CKUT's Sundus Abdul Hadia and Beirut-based artist Joe Namy.

The new additions join previously announced performers Colin Stetson, the Kills, Holy Fuck, Jerusalem in My Heart, Wally Badarou, Angel Olsen, John Waters, 69 Boyz, Uniiqu3, Michael Angelo, Psychic TV, Diet Cig, Les Hôtesses d'Hilaire, Groenland, Seth Bogart, Acid Priest, Allah-Las, American Lips, Craig Cardiff, D.R.A.M., Mourn, Nicole Dollanganger, Sonic Avenues, Steve Adamyk Band and Wolves in the Throne Room.

Pop Montreal's complete lineup with be released on August 31. This year, the festival will take over various venues across the city from September 21 to 25. Find full information about the upcoming fest and related events over at the
