Jess Williamson — one half of Plains alongside Waxahatchee's Katie Crutchfield — has announced plans for a new album called Time Ain't Accidental. It's out June 9 via Mexican Summer.
The singer-songwriter has shared its lead single "Hunter," which arrives alongside a music video directed by Rocco Rivetti. "If you've been ghosted, if you've chased after an unavailable person, if you've been given crumbs when you need a full meal, 'Hunter' is a song for you," Williamson explained of the track in a release.
She continued: "I wrote it during a time when I was heartbroken over a breakup and experimenting with dating in Los Angeles. That era felt like being thrown to the wolves, but it helped me to see myself and what I really wanted more clearly. This song is an anthem for the true lovers out there, anyone who is hunting for the real thing."
Williamson has mapped out a stretch of North American tour dates in support of the record. She'll perform 18 shows through May and June, with a lone stop in Canada bringing her to Toronto's Monarch Tavern on May 27.
