Pinegrove are due to release their fourth studio record Marigold later this week, but in the meantime, they've given us one last taste of the album in a new track "The Alarmist."

According to a press release, the song "tries to look at the negotiation of space between two people — balancing comfort and closeness with a need for independence," and "takes place in the first moment you find yourself alone after an intense experience with a friend, sorting through the layers of history, head swimming; revisiting frames of memory, seeing your relationship (& yourself in it) with startling clarity."

"The Alarmist" follows last year's release of two album singles "Phase" and "Moment."

Marigold marks the band's first material since Skylight was released in the midst of allegations of sexual coercion against frontman Evan Stephens Hall. The group and Hall's alleged victim later reportedly reached "a private resolution with a trusted mediator."

Marigold arrives January 17 via Rough Trade Records.

The band are heading out on a U.S./European tour later this week. Find those dates here.
