Peter Hook and the Light Bring 'Substance' Material by New Order and Joy Division on North American Tour

BY Gregory AdamsPublished Jan 19, 2016

Peter Hook's legal battles with his old bandmates from New Order and Joy Division have likely soured his position on them personally, but damned if the guy doesn't still enjoy playing the music they made together. He's already going to be touring Europe with his backup band the Light to play some classic tracks, and now he's confirmed a chunk of North American tour dates as well.

Hook's travel plans start up at the end of the month in Eastern Europe, with the band set to play a trio of sets concentrating on the bassist's time in New Order. He also has a series of European dates between March and April, with some playing out as New Order sets and others as performances of material Hook recorded with iconic post-punks Joy Division.

As Pitchfork points out, Peter Hook and the Light will go for broke for the rest of the year, with festival dates and a North American run from September to November finding the act tackling both the New Order and Joy Division sets. The concerts will concentrate on the singles and b-sides collected on both Joy Division and New Order's respective Substance compilations.

Along the way, Hook and co. will offer crowds in Vancouver, Toronto and Montreal plenty of, ahem, Substance. The date and venue details can be found below.
