Peter Hook and the Light to Play New Order's 'Technique' and 'Republic' on Fall Tour

They'll make stops in Toronto, Montreal and Vancouver

Peter Hook and his current band the Light are heading out on a European and North American tour once again to celebrate the celebrated past of his former groups, Joy Division and New Order. This time, Hook and co. will be performing New Order's 1989 album Technique and 1993's Republic in full, as well as doing an opening set of Joy Division material.

The tour kicks off in Ireland this September and will make its way to Canada for three stops this fall, making stops in Toronto, Montreal and Vancouver, before wrapping up in Atlanta. The full schedule can be found below.

This is hardly a new schtick for Hook. In 2013, he announced a similar run of shows, wherein he paid tribute to New Order's back catalogue by performing Movement and Power, Corruption & Lies on another live tour. In 2014, he continued the trend with Low-Life and Brotherhood before taking on New Order and Joy Division's Substance releases in 2016.

Continuing with Technique and Republic puts the run of albums in chronological order so far. At this rate, perhaps we can expect another tour dedicated to Get Ready and Waiting for the Sirens' Call in another few years.

Hook and his former New Order bandmates got stuck in a legal battle a few years ago. They reached a settlement in 2017, allowing Hook to continue his performance series.
